How to delete your data

Overview

Hidden Mechanics (operated by RueZen LLC) lets you request the deletion of the personal data we hold about you at any time, free of charge. This page explains exactly what we store, how to ask us to delete it, and how long that takes.

Our website address is https://hiddenmechanics.com. This policy works alongside our Privacy Policy and Terms and Conditions.

What data we hold

Depending on how you have used the Services, we may hold some or all of the following:

• Account data — the name, email address and profile picture associated with your account, and the sign-in method you used (email and password, Google, Facebook or Apple).
• Data from Facebook Login — if you signed in with Facebook, we receive only your public profile (name and profile picture) and your email address. We never receive your Facebook password, your friends list, or your posts, and we do not post to Facebook on your behalf.
• Messages and tickets — the contents of any support ticket, contact form or message you sent us, including the vehicle and repair details you chose to share.
• Technical data — IP address, browser user agent and similar log data collected automatically for security and spam prevention.

We do not sell your personal data, and we do not use it for advertising.

How to request deletion

Send an email to info@hiddenmechanics.com with the subject line “Data Deletion Request” and include:

• The email address associated with your Hidden Mechanics account.
• The sign-in method you used (email and password, Google, Facebook or Apple).
• Whether you want everything deleted, or only specific data (for example, just your support tickets).

You can also call us at 316-806-5247, write to us at 4601 E. Douglas Suite 150, Wichita, KS 67218, United States, or open a support ticket and tell us you want your data deleted.

So that we do not delete the wrong person's data, we may email the address on the account to confirm the request came from you. Please send your request from that address where possible.

If you signed in with Facebook

Removing our app from your Facebook account stops any further data being shared with us, but it does not by itself delete the data we already hold. To remove our app on Facebook:

1. Go to Settings & Privacy → Settings in your Facebook account.
2. Open Apps and Websites.
3. Find Hidden Mechanics in the list, then choose Remove.

To have the data we already hold erased as well, email us using the instructions above and we will delete it.

What happens after you ask

• We acknowledge your request within 5 business days.
• We complete the deletion within 30 days of verifying the request, and email you to confirm when it is done.
• Deletion covers your account record, your profile data, the data we received from your sign-in provider, and your messages and support tickets.
• Copies held in routine encrypted backups are removed as those backups expire, within 90 days. They are not used for any other purpose in the meantime.
• Deletion is permanent. Once your data is deleted we cannot restore it, and you would need to create a new account to use the Services again.

What we may need to keep

We may retain a limited amount of information where the law requires it or where we have a legitimate need — for example transaction and tax records, records needed to resolve a dispute, or records of fraud, abuse or security incidents. We keep the minimum necessary for that purpose and for no longer than required, and we tell you if any of your data falls into this category.

Content you shared publicly and that others have already copied or re-shared elsewhere is outside our control, as is data held by an independent mechanic you contacted directly. If you arranged a repair with a mechanic, please contact them about any records they hold.

Other data rights

As well as deletion, you can ask us to give you a copy of the personal data we hold about you, correct data that is wrong, or restrict how we use it. Use the same contact details above. See our Privacy Policy for more detail on how we handle your data.
